Join us for a session that demystifies English, empowering you to confidently guide your students on their journey to mastering the language.

Contrary to its reputation, English is a language with predictable patterns. In this enlightening session, discover the percentage of English words that follow sound-symbol correspondences and the percentage that are truly irregular. Unravel the mysteries behind the perceived chaos of English and understand why it is considered an opaque orthography.

Delve into the crucial realm of phonemic awareness, comprehending its pivotal role in literacy. Learn not only why it is essential but also how to effectively teach it. Furthermore, acquire evidence-based strategies in decoding and encoding to assist students in grasping phoneme-grapheme relationships, which is essential for learning to read and spell efficiently.

This session ensures a practical and insightful experience, providing numerous applications and ideas to enhance your teaching approach and a deeper understanding of the English writing system.

Targeted to K-3, but others would benefit.
