2024 IEA Summer Institute

The theme for this year’s IEA Summer Institute is "Adventure Awaits!" You can expect excitement and opportunities for growth and exploration as you learn, network with colleagues and reconnect with friends. This event will take place in-person at Lewis - Clark State College in Lewiston from July 24th to 27th, 2024. For those unable to attend physically, there will be online strands available on July 24th and 25th.

"Yoga" - when you hear this word what images come to mind? Twenty-something models with perfect bodies scantily dressed and maneuvering their beautiful physiques into unimaginable poses. Well, believe it or not, yoga is a great gateway activity for the unathletic who are seeking to gain greater physical conditioning.

Even if you have never exercised before, yoga can be the perfect place to start. In this two-part session, you will learn yoga's history, types, scientifically proven benefits, etiquette, and vocabulary. In addition, during the second half, we will practice basic poses so everyone is ready to comfortably attend their first yoga class at any fitness facility.

Come start your yoga journey or just go more in-depth on what you already know about this life-long fitness activity that is accessible to everyone. Stretch out and relax for credit!!!

You may bring your own yoga mat if you'd like. Wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing to allow a full range of motion for poses.
