The theme for this year’s IEA Summer Institute is "Adventure Awaits!" You can expect excitement and opportunities for growth and exploration as you learn, network with colleagues and reconnect with friends. This event will take place in-person at Lewis - Clark State College in Lewiston from July 24th to 27th, 2024. For those unable to attend physically, there will be online strands available on July 24th and 25th.

Idaho is consistently in the top ten states for childhood suicide. LGBTQ+ individuals have one of the highest self-harm, suicide, and homicide rates in the country. Across the US and in Idaho, legislation is proposed and often passed, that further isolates those in the LGBTQ+ community. Learn how and why our classrooms should, and can be, safe places for all students.

Participants will learn the how and why of safe spaces in schools. They will learn how to make their classrooms and curriculum inclusive for all students and families.
